The United Nations Climate Change Conference, held two years ago in Paris, which was also an important step in seeing how previous agreements had unfolded, decided to secure commitments from countries that could limit global warming to a level that could be addressed. Pakistan reduced a very sad figure at this conference, although the delegation was led by the Prime Minister. However, one of the approximately 350-word pagers he made heard as Pakistani intent had nothing to say. Our sustainable future is at stake.
But I firmly believe that this is a fight that can be won. Technology is on our side. We have all the tools and knowledge we need to move from the underground economy to the green economy, as we saw in the slides. We have the Paris agreement on climate change. We have the sustainable development goals. And we have the most dedicated and engaged generation of young people in history — a group that will not accept the current situation. Commits to unconditionally reducing emissions by 22% by 2025 compared to a “business as usual” scenario. Contains a section on adaptation and detailed information about its vulnerabilities.
